| Eyebrow restoration is
the next most common procedure that we are asked to perform (after the
scalp that is). Eyebrow restoration is common because the donor
dominance hair can be taken from almost any site and will grow
anywhere it is planted.
One would think that
the most likely practice would be to plant eyebrow hairs in the
eyebrow, but as the eyebrow is already deficient, donor hair must be
taken elsewhere. We usually look to a part of the scalp where
the hairs most resemble those of the eyebrow hairs. The number
of grafts required will be determined by the size of the eyebrow
deficit.
The results are very
good and success ratio high for the Eyebrow restoration procedure.
Keeping in mind that the donor dominance hair is taken from another
site, the transplanted hair will behave like the hair from the site of
extraction; For example, scalp hairs that have been transplanted in
the eyebrow will continue to behave like scalp hairs and will have to
be trimmed on a regular basis. |
